JJP-10/JJP-11

JJP-10 and JJP-11 were developed as water-soluble cholesterol altering compounds in an attempt to minimize liver and muscle toxicity as well as prevent any drug interactions.

Combined therapy with statins and fibrates has been proven to be more effective at controlling atherogenic dyslipidemia in patients with combined hyperlipidemia than either drug alone. Thus, our platform is a combo of a statin and fibrate formulated as one pill to address the overall lipid panel associated with coronary heart disease (CHD), including raising HDL. After evaluating a number of statins and fibrates, our choice for the combo involves a dihydroxyacid salt of a statin (JJP-10) and a fenofibric salt (JJP-11). Both components are water soluble to minimize toxicity.
